I found Parker a skeleton pajama set for 6 bucks because he needed new pajamas and I thought they were cute. (Blogger is being dumb and won't let me upload his picture from Mom's Trunk or Treat Wed Night)
When I hadn't gotten him a costume, I decided he could just wear his pajamas for Halloween and be a Skeleton. Then I saw this blog yesterday with a male and a female adult skeleton costume that matched Parker's and I fell in love.
I sent Adam a message with the link and told him I wanted to make them and so I rushed to the store to try to find the stuff. You would think it would be easy to find 2 black long sleeve shirts (one being maternity) and 2 black pants, white fabric paint, paint brushes and freezer paper, but it wasn't! haha! I finally found some pants that would fit me that weren't maternity and found a black maternity shirt that would fit over this large stomach of mine! It took me two craft stores to find white fabric paint and paint brushes and two stores to find freezer paper. Craziness I know. Then I almost didn't make it back into town because yesterday was Vidor's homecoming and they shut down the main road for the parade! Craziness!
The site doesn't have patterns for us to use so we had to freehand everything! Do you know how hard that is?? Adam created the baby skeleton and the burger, fries and drink on the computer and printed them out for us to trace, but the bones and ribs we had to make ourselves! It was so hard and after attempting several times, we finally got it kinda right and how we wanted it! haha.
Here are all 4 pieces in the process of being painted -
Adam's Shirt
My Shirt
My Pants
This morning we took the freezer paper template off and had the final result. Ours don't look as perfect as hers since the paint bled through a little bit, but I think they turned out cute...
Yep you don't get to see my beautiful self - I had just woken up people come on! haha I need to get a black tank to go under it though because I'm not liking how it's see through under the baby. I still need to make a bow for the baby's head and sew it on since it's a girl! But you get the general idea!
