Violence

How do you feel about violent video games?

A while back we went to a friends house and a video games was being played. The point of the game is to shoot the bad guys and when you do blood spurts onto the screen. I don't like it. I don't think it's appropriate for any age. I don't want it in my house. I told Adam that I didn't care how old Parker was, he would not play that game in my home.

Does this make me a bad mom? Does it make me the uncool and unhip mom? It is unfair to Adam for me to say that without giving him an opinion?

What are you thoughts on games like these?

Running Around

I had the camera out uploading pictures and videoed Parker for a little bit. He can get up and down on the couch, and is constantly running around all day everyday!

Swinging

Dancing Video

Sorry you can't read the title screen. Parker's favorite song for the longest time was all the single ladies and I pulled the music video up one day for Parker to dance and I videoed him! He is too funny! The part where the music starts and stops over and over would be Parker pushing keys on the computer pausing and staring the video!

Parker Little Buddy

My niece, Meredith, calls Parker "Parker Little Buddy". It is so cute when she is in town listening to her yell, "Parker Little Buddy where are you?"

Here are some cute pictures of Parker Little Buddy for your enjoyment! I am going to try and get a few videos up tonight!
He is now 13 months old and still growing...he went to the doctor earlier this month for his year check up and shots. Parker has only gained 11 oz since his last visit 3 or 4 months ago so we have to go back in 6 weeks for them to weigh him. Parker grazes all day. He loves food and it doesn't matter who is eating it, he wants a big bite or two of it. I guess because he plays all day long, he isn't gaining weight. We'll see what the doctor says about his weight when we go in for his checkup.

Parker dumped all of the balls out of his bucket and put it on his head and wandered around the living room. He thought it was funny.

Parker dumped all the dishes out of moms cabinet and then climbed in it and was playing under there. I didn't get the camera out in time to get a picture of him in the cabinet but Kari got a short video (it was in the wrong mode haha)

Parker watches everyone playing the wii and he always wants to play along. He is really good at holding the controller and nunchuck right! The red mark on his head in the top picture is a battle wound! The rubbermade bucket I had in front of his ac in his room as a barrier...Parker decided it would be fun to climb up and down on it. Every time he got on it, I would go in there and tell him to get down and help him down. I didn't make it in time the last time he tried it and and fell off and hit the door! Poor Baby. Needless to say he hasn't tried climbing back up on the bucket!

Parker wanted on the couch with me but wanted his car up on the couch too and I refused, but when dad got home, he let Parker bring his car on the couch and then Parker wanted on the car!

We finally put Parker's swing up for two seconds for him to enjoy it. The trees at moms house are no good and we can't leave it up on our porch because of all the lovely neighborhood animals everywhere. He liked it and didn't want out. When Adam took the swing down and brought him and the swing inside Parker wanted to sit in it. He sat in it for a long time and watched cartoons!

Parker's Chinese Grin.

Exhausted!

I am not too sure why I am so tired tonight....

Could it be that for 3 days straight I have been cutting out tiny pieces for file folder quiet books I am making for Parker?

Could it be that Parker has hardly napped the past few days and still stays up late (I'm talking ten, eleven, maybe even twelve o'clock)?

Could it be that I've had family in town and wanted to spend as much time with them as possible?

Could it be that I helped (or not so much) my mom feed the stake presidency and their wives and a few extras tonight?

I don't know what it is, but I have been busy doing all of the above and still trying to keep a clean house etc. It is so hard to keep a clean house with a one year old. I came home tonight to cheerios all over the living room floor, dirty clothes of Parker's on the floor and couch, toys everywhere...the floor, the couch, under the couch, thrown over the child's gate...., sippy cups everywhere. Would you be able to guess that his dad watched him here at home and that is part of the reason for the clutter? Adam is really good about cleaning up and helping me pick up (a lot of times it is because I initiate it, but hey the fact that he is helping, I'll take).

I feel like clutter just gathers everywhere in my house and it drives me crazy. I hate clutter. I get tired of looking at it. I don't want to see it, etc. So a lot of things get thrown away around this house if you aren't careful.

I have nothing else to say and don't really remember what I've said! I am going to bed! Good Night Blogging World.

Cute Little Boy!

We took Parker to the Park this evening after dinner to play and unfortunately, the playground was soaked (I don't think it has rained in days, but maybe I'm wrong - I just can't remember haha) So we let him run around for a little while and he did not want to leave! It was hard to get him to look at the camera, but he did a few times!

So Much Work

I now know why I never changed my email address when I got married. It is such a hassle, to transfer over your emails, your contacts, your reader, changing your address on everything, etc. That's all I have done all day and I am not done yet! I will never change my email address ever again!

Organization...

I am always trying to figure out how to better organize our house. The living room especially because that is the room that most people see. I used to keep my cedar chest next to the tv full of blankets and it was working fine there until our dvd player bit the dust. It was a tiny, thin, square one so it fit perfect in our tiny tv stand with all of our dvds and wii games. When we went to go find another one, all we could find was a big skinny one. It is probably the same thickness of the other one, but about 2 1/2 times longer. Our movies no longer fit so perfect in our little tv stand. So I found this at Target....

So far it is working out perfect.
Two have all of our wii games, controllers and other wii accessories.
Three keep our dvds nice and neat. (I haven't put them in any order yet, so they are all different directions and no specified genre.)
One keeps my crap in it...pens, notepads, chargers, the bow Parker ripped off one of my decorative pillow, etc.

One is for all of Parker's junk...diapers, wipes, lotion, etc. (and yes those are pampers diapers and huggies wipes. Pampers diapers work the best for Parker and I like huggies wipes the best!)
One for now is still empty, but it may store more of Parker's diapers since only about 5 fit in the basket with the wipes.

What do you think?

Yes, Blessings Do Come

Today is the first of the month, which means for a lot of America PAYDAY! Today we see our bank accounts shoot up to high high numbers and then watch the accounts dwindle right before our eyes as we pay each and every bill.

Today as I was looking at our gas bill, I noticed that it said there was a credit on the account and that we didn't owe any money. That's odd. I haven't been over paying the bill. (I always get worried when bills say there is nothing due - I always think it's a typing error and usually pay it anyways.)

So I call the gas company and there is an over 50 minute wait, but they have this call back thing so you don't have to sit on hold for 5,000 years and it supposedly calls you back when it's your turn etc. Works for me. All I had to do was enter the phone number I wanted them to call me back at and my name.

They called back and I explained my dilemma about not having to pay and they explained that because we have paid on time on our account consecutively, we got our deposit back that we paid 2 years ago. There is going to be a credit on next months bill too!!

One of my student loan bills has said for the past few months it isn't due until four months later, however, I still continue to pay it, because I am scared it's just a typing error and month after month, it comes back and says it isn't due for another four months...
