My Fam

Caryn took a picture of the four of us while we were there this past weekend for her boys baseball/tball games...Just wish my hair would have been fixed - but I knew I was going to be at the ballpark all afternoon so I didn't fix it and then I asked her to take our picture not thinking!  Oh Well!  It's still a cute pic of my sweet family!

Adam took these two pictures with his phone!  He can usually catch Riglee smiling on camera (I usually can't!)

On the News Last Year

Summer Fashion Flip Flops

I was on the news last year for flip flops my sister and I were making - I wanted to put the like somewhere so I wouldn't lose it! haha

Kim's Sonnet

Adam wrote a sonnet for me for our 3rd Anniversary and posted it on facebook - but I wanted to put it on here so that I wouldn't lose it.

Kim's Sonnet

Life's cruel waves have battered much
Upon the heart of this poor wretch
Unsure of life and love and such
I wandered long a soul to fetch
Then it happened in a summer's day
I found new life in your small glance
A fleeting smile, so short to stay
Had stoked the fires of new romance
A burning blaze that no words convey
A whirlwind dance preceded then
To sweep us up and intertwine
Two hearts as one to beat and spin
Til my feet grow weary and eyes decline
Yet tonight I rest in heaven's view
Because tonight i rest with you

Happy anniversary sweet heart

Videos

Below the post, I posted three videos that I absolutely love and wanted to share with whoever reads my blog.  It's all about family and parents spending time with their children.  To often we get busy and forget that we need to take time to goof off and imagine with our children.  They value their time with us and it's important that we give it to them.

I'm on the Phone

The other night I was watching Parker sit at the desk in my moms kitchen.  He was holding his ball up to his ear and talking to it like it was a telephone.  He was taking "notes" in his coloring book.

When I asked him what he was doing he said, "I'm on the Phone."

That night he talked to Hunter, Aunt Kia and Uncle Matt and probably a few other people.

Getting Healthy

I'm trying really hard to lose some weight and get healthy.

I was released from the Doc on Friday and yesterday I started exercising again...nothing to fancy -- just took the wii fit board out and did step ups on it for 20 minutes while I watched a tv show on Netflix....

I did it again today and Parker joined (luckily we were able to borrow Mom's wii fit board so that we could each have our own)!

I plan to continue working out at least 20 minutes a day and to increase it more and more each week or something.

I also started not eating after 7 or 8 (depending on how soon dinner is ready and we eat).

I'm not drinking soda again and sticking to sugar free drinks or water.

I'm trying to watch the carbs that I eat - as in not eat a lot of carbs during the day at all...that's harder than you think - trust me I know - I had to do it with both pregnancies and it seemed to work and keep the weight off (gaining only 12 lbs with Parker and only 4 with Riglee).

I am excited and hoping to lose a good bit of weight to be the skinny person I've never been...

Okay so I probably won't be as skinny as my two sisters because lets face it I never have been and I'm definitely big boned, but hopefully I'll be close to skinny! :)

So if you see me cheating or trying to cheat - I give you permission (for now anyways) to get onto me!! :) haha

Sweet Dreams

Either Riglee was so tired from not sleeping good the night before or the Rice Cereal worked...

She slept until 5:00 and I think she would have slept longer if Parker hadn't woken up crying!

I fed her and put her back down around 5:30 or so and she didn't wake back up until 10:30!!

Adam let Parker lay with us at 5:00 and I told him when I got out of the bathroom and started feeding Riglee that he needed to carry him back to his own bed.  Then Parker joined us again at 6:45...at that point Adam was about to have to get up to get ready for work so I just left him in our bed and we all slept until 10!! :)

I am one happy mom!

Rice Cereal

I've been blogging a lot lately - but it's because typing is so much easier for me than writing things down and there are things that I don't want to forget...so I type them here in cyber space so they won't (hopefully) get lost...

Riglee was wide awake last night until about 12:30 or 1:00 am.  Then she decided to wake up at 3:00 and didn't go back down until 3:45 and then she was back up around 6:00.  She has been playing the game of only eating a little bit and then falling back asleep and not finishing a bottle.  Hence the reason she has been eating every 2-3 hours...

Tonight I decided that I didn't want to play that game anymore.  We used to give Parker Rice Cereal in his bottles at bed time to help satisfy him longer at night.  Adam fed Riglee her 6 oz bottle tonight with 3 scoops of rice cereal with it.  She drank it like a champ.  She is still awake at the moment due to the fact her and my mom snoozed in the chair off and on from 8:00 until 10ish I suppose.  We'll see how she does.

I know people say not to give rice cereal to babies in bottles, but I really don't care what people say! :)

3rd Anniversary

Adam and I celebrated our 3rd Anniversary this past weekend since our actual anniversary was last Tuesday.  Parker spend the weekend with Adam's Parents and My Parents volunteered to keep Riglee!  We were going to take her with us, but when they offered, we took it.

We didn't go anywhere too amazing etc since we are trying to save money, etc.  We decided that we would just stay the night in Houston one night and then spend the day just the two of us.  We headed out Friday afternoon about 2ish and went to Katy.  I absolutely love Katy Mills Mall (I dunno why - I just do!) and so we got a hotel close to there.  We shopped around and hit up a lot of clearance racks!  I absolutely love a good sale and since I need new clothes we found me some cute shirts for cheap!

After we shopped, we went to dinner at TGI Fridays - we ate there the night before we got married after I got my endowments - so that's where Adam wanted to eat...It wasn't the best meal - but it was pretty good and we have a $10 off card for our next visit before April something - and there isn't one close - maybe we can give it to someone that can actually use it!

Here is our appetizer that we both devoured...I guess we were both hungry!
Here is Adam waiting for our food...
And my Sandwich that I ordered - I was full and so I got a to go box to put it in and then left it in the hotel fridge when we checked out - I was a lil sad...
After dinner we headed to the movie theater at the mall to see what was playing...
We ended up seeing Red Riding Hood because it had the closest starting time - totally not worth the $9.50 we spent on each ticket...I hate when they put parts in movies they could have totally left out too!
Then we headed back to the hotel...
It was such a nice room - King bed even! I have decided when we buy a bed (ours was mine from before we were married and even then it was a hand-me-down) we need a king bed! There was so much room and space!
Adam relaxed in the hot tub...and I dozed on the bed watching The Celebrity Apprentice...
I absolutely loved the fact that our whole hotel was 100% smoke free! Every hotel should be that way!!

Saturday Morning we went to Houston Premium Outlets - we didn't find as many sales as we did at Katy Mills - But we did score Adam some $50 shirts from American Eagle for only 12 bucks!  It is such a nice outlet mall - if you are ever near Cypress, you should check it out!

We then headed to the Galleria to eat at The Cheesecake Factory - however, it was so busy and crowded that we ate at The Rainforest Cafe instead.

I have decided that I hate the Galleria - it is way to busy for my liking!  We walked across the street and found a JAMBA JUICE!!! I absolutely love Jamba and have missed it terribly!

We also found an Old Navy across the street that was so unorganized it was a pain shopping there - so we left!

It was nice spending time together just the two of us - We love our kids and love spending time with them, but that time for just the two of us was desperately needed!

Stylish Blogger...

So my little sister, Kari, awarded me with the stylish blogger award and I'm pretty sure she only did it because she 1) knew I would respond and 2) didn't know who else to put on her list!! haha, but either way I'm grateful she thinks I'm stylish!

Here are the rules for this little award/game or whatev...

1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this.
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Pay it forward to 7 recently discovered great bloggers.
4. Contact those bloggers and tell them about their Blog Award!

7 Things you never wanted to know about me:

1.  I got pooped on yesterday by my lovely daughter...it also got on my comforter...it's one of the many reasons why I hate changing dirty diapers and always convince Adam to change them when he's home.

2.  I absolutely love cooking for big-small groups of people.  As in 4-6 people...It's hard cooking for just my little family mostly because I hate leftovers and hate to see it go to waste.

3.  I hate grocery shopping.  I'd love to just give the list to someone, have them go, have them pay and then deliver them to me so I can cook.

4.  I've eaten so much crap since I've had Riglee, that I'm having a hard time getting back on my "diet".  I'd love to lose a lot of weight, but have been lazy and haven't put forth the effort.

5.  I am a homebody and hate going places.  There are days where the kids and I will stay home all day long because I hate getting out.  Then after a few days, I get sick of it and spend the whole day running errands.

6.  I love making cookie dough and just eating the dough.  It's a comfort food and oh so good!  I even like brownie and cake batter...  Sometimes we just make them to eat it...

7.  It drives me crazy picking up for other people...I hate when people get something out and then don't put it away.  I am guilty of this myself sometimes, but I like a neat, tidy place and when there are toys and shoes all over my living room, it drives me crazy.  Hence the reason Parker has the rule that all toys must stay in his room...not that it's always followed...

Car Wash

A few weekends ago, Kari came over to wash her car and Parker and Mom helped her...He loved it!

Parkers New Hair Cut

Adam took Parker to get his hair cut the other day!  It was getting so long!  When the lady asked if they wanted it styled, Parker said, "Yes!" haha!  So she styled it for him!

6 hours

Riglee slept 6 hours straight last night!  It was greatly needed and appreciated!  She was up for an hour and went back to sleep and is still peacefully resting in her bed!  Now if she would just do that every night instead of one or two nights a week! :)

Parker and Mickey Mouse

So Parker loves Mickey Mouse.  He was given two stuffed ones for Christmas and he loves them.  Tonight when Adam was reading to him, Parker started looking around the room and sniffing.  He then said, "Mickey did you poop?" Then he checked Mickey's Pants for Poop...The End.

Bed Time

So bed time doesn't go to well around our home.  You see we stay up late chatting, catching up on our shows that we have recorded etc.  Needless to say, we don't start getting Parker ready for bed until 10 pm at the earliest!  We need to have him on a routine and going to bed at a decent time but we don't.

We used to be able to walk him to bed and he would stay in there and go to sleep.  He was so good about going to bed and I thought - wow that was pretty easy!

Now that Riglee is here, they are sharing a room, which is totally fine for right now.  However, Riglee decides to sleep all day and ends up being wide awake from about 9 or 10 until 12 or 1.  This doesn't make it any easier getting Parker to go to bed.

You see he thinks that if Riglee is going to hang out with Mom and Dad, he can too.  We put him in bed and he comes out a thousand times.

My arm hurts.
My finger hurts.
My eyes hurt.
My leg hurts.
I want medicine.
Riglee needs to be in bed.

The list goes on and on.

Tonight - one of the thousands of times he came out of his room, he laid on the couch and when I told him to go to bed, he closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep.  He is so funny.

How do you get your kid to stay in bed???

Riglee's Baby Blessing

Riglee was blessed today in church by her dad.  The men that joined Adam in the circle were: My Dad (Nick), Adam's Dad (John), Adam's 2nd Dad (David), Grumps, Kevin, Matt, Bishop Hadlock, and Shep (he is like a grandpa to me).  It was beautiful and of course I teared up a little. I'll post more pictures after I edit them a little bit! :)

$3.39 are you Outta Your Mind?

Yep - I paid $3.39 for gas yesterday and I'm pretty upset about it - I had been waiting hoping for the price to drop back down.  Instead it went from $3.19 to $3.25 to $3.29 to $3.39.

Then about 4 hours after I filled up my tank, I passed a gas station that was back to $3.25.

It's pretty ridiculous if you ask me!

Pretty Much Amazing

So the picture doesn't do it justice - probably because I'm not a photog and probably because it was taken with my phone, but this dip is AMAZING!!

It's called Green Sauce.  If you want the recipe go to Chezfruge.com and search for green sauce...You will be happy you did!!

Yesterday Was Not My Day...But I Did Get to Sleep All Night!

So I don't even know if anyone even reads this anymore - but who really cares - honestly I started a blog to remind me of things when I get older and start to forget.  Which is already started happening!  It's more like a journal of the crazy things that have happened or the fun or the bad etc.

Anyways - Yesterday - I told you all about the tree roach that decided to take over my bed.  All roaches are nasty and disgusting but I'll take a tree roach any day over those nasty cockroaches - mega gross!

Well I washed my comforter and spread it out over the couch to dry because the dryer isn't working and then put a new set of sheets on my bed.  I figured I'd just wash the nasty roach gut sheets when the dryer got fixed since I had a spare set.

That was until I put both kids on my bed and changed both diapers and when I picked them both up - there was a wet spot on my sheets.  Pee? Maybe.  Spit Up?  Maybe.  Annoying? Yes!

So I took the flat sheet off the bed and noticed it had gone through that (both kids were laying on top of a blanket mind you).  I then proceeded to take off the fitted sheet because it was on that.

Then I even had to take off the mattress pad because he had gotten on that!  UGH!  I don't have an extra extra set of sheets!  or an extra mattress pad!  So I headed to my sisters house, put both sets of sheets in her washer and headed to Wal-Mart.  I found another mattress pad for cheap - so that we would now have an extra and looked for a comforter set (bed in bag or something) that kind of matched what we already have.

It is nice to have spares of everything you know.

Well our sets now are in the brown family (as in the color brown) and all I could find were sets with black at 3 different stores!  That's okay no biggie right - At least I'll have clean sheets.

That took up most of my day - then we headed to dinner with Friends - Friends that we've missed - Friends that we haven't spent time with since Riglee was born and she's a month old now.

While we were all sitting there enjoying a nice dinner - with 6 adults, a 5 year old, a 2 year old, a 9 month old and a 1 month old - I was attempting to clean up after the 2 year old (Parker) and knocked over my full cup of diet dr pepper and it went rushing towards Matt!

Luckily he has great reflexes and moved out of the way in time and stopped the river of ddp with his hand.  Ryan told me to throw the whole roll of paper towels down on the spill - but did I listen?  No - but I should have!

While I was cleaning that up - I spilled over my cup of salsa!

Yesterday was not my day at all!

But Parker was in bed around 11 (pretty good for him and us) and Riglee followed shortly there after.

When I heard her fussing this morning I looked at the clock and saw what time it was.  6:58 am.  Yep she made it all night!  I'm pretty happy about it.

She is an amazing little girl and we love her a lot!  She is really good except for the fact that she pees every time I change her diaper.  She doesn't do that for Adam or for my Mom...the little stinker!

The End.

Eww

So at 1 am this morning Adam suddenly sat up in bed.

I wasn't sure what was wrong but I sat up and turned on the light as soon as he told me there had been a bug on him.
I don't do bugs - at all...of any kind - hate them...they kinda gross me out.

He grabs a paper towel and starts trying to pull it off of our comforter - apparently it was stuck or something I'm not sure - but I wasn't getting to close to check.

Suddenly he says its a roach and I jumped out of the bed and went across the room.

You see I hate bugs - but roaches are one of the worst.  I don't care that it's a tree roach that came in from outside - they are all disgusting, nasty little creatures.  I hate that to kill them you have to chase them down and when you finally catch them and smash them, the crunch...  EWWW I hate the crunch!

He killed it, threw it away and now there are roach guts or poop or something on our comforter and flat sheet to our bed and the dryer isn't working - lucky me!
