Parkerisms - Pink Milk

Parker: "Mom can I have some pink milk."
Me: "Sure."
Parker: pointing to the straw in the cup on the bottle of Hershey's Strawberry Syrup... "Is that Christmas?"
Me: "Sure. Are you ready for Christmas?"
Parker: "Yeah."
Me: "Are you ready for Santa to come?"
Parker: "Oh yeah."
Me: "What do you want Santa to bring you?"
Parker: "PRESENTS!"

Parkerisms - bad dream

Parker just woke up crying and came to me for me to pick him up.

I hugged him and said what's wrong...

He said, "I want to go outside and daddy said no."

Poor kid -- Such a sad/bad dream!

Parkerisms - 2 minutes

Parker's new thing lately is "2 minutes."

Me: "Parker it's time to get ready for bed."
Parker: "Just give me two minutes."

Parker: "Kia come play in my room."
Kari: "I can't - I have to go home."
Parker: "Just two minutes?"

Adam: "It's time to turn off the tv."
Parker: "Just two more minutes."

It's so cute when he says it and holds up his two fingers - sometimes I can't help but let him have his "2 minutes."

Parkerisms - too hot

After Parker's Nap today, I told him we were going to go outside to play.  With the "cool front" that came through, our temps went down from the 90s to the 80s, and it has been very nice out.

I brought a blanket out for Rigs to sit on and Parker had his big ball and bat.

After being out there about 10 minutes he said, "It's too hot out here, let's go back inside."

Yep - that's my kid.  He's definitely related to his momma - except I didn't think it was that hot today.  (Before our "cool front" he lasted maybe 2 minutes outside! haha)

Parkerisms - Calling Dad

I'm in the shower - Parker comes in - the conversation goes like this:

Parker: "Mom, Dad is on the phone."
Me: "Okay Parker.  Tell him I'll call him back when I get out of the shower."
Parker: "Okay" and walks out of the bathroom.

After I get dressed I go find Parker.  This is how the conversation goes...

Me: "Did daddy really call?"
Parker: "No, I called him."

Luckily it was Adam and not someone else! :)

Old Navy Mishap

We headed to Old Navy tonight to use my Super Cash I got earlier in the month. If you spend $40, you get $20 off. A great deal right! Half the price...So we found enough Items to get over $40 and checked out.  When I got home and was looking at the receipt, It looked odd to me....

(click on picture to enlarge receipt and see totals)

We called, they said they would try and figure it out and call us back.  They called back and said we have to bring in the receipt to see what messed up.

Is it worth it to drive back for just over $4.00?
Is my math even right?
What would you do?
I suppose I need to start checking receipts before I leave the store...
Do you ever check your receipts to make sure they are right?

Parkerisms - concerns for dad

Parker: "Where are we going?"
Me: "To pick up daddy and then go to the store."
Parker: "After we go to the store can we go to Chick-fil-a?"
Me: "I don't know."
Parker: "But not daddy.  Just you, me and Rigee."
Me: "Why can't daddy go?"
Parker: "because he has to go home and go to bed to go to work."

Conference

This weekend our church had conference and it was amazing.  Elder Holland came and spoke to us and switched out our Stake Presidency.

Our family had the opportunity to feed Elder Holland.  He was so polite and funny.  He shook our hands and told my mom that he would like to fly in every weekend for her to fee him!  He also told Mom that she was his very own Betty Crocker or something like that.  Before my dad could introduce Kari, Elder Holland told her she looked just like my mom.

He also talked to Riglee and said that she was the pretty little girl that he saw being passed around Saturday night at conference.  Haha -- She started out sitting with Adam's Parents and then was ready for her bottle so I had to go get her from them...

It was a pretty amazing experience and I'm glad I suffered through my back pain to attend and help mom feed him and the Stake Presidency.  I am sad that I missed out on Sunday feeding them lunch.  I came home and My parents, sister and sister in law got to sit at the table with Elder Holland and visit with him while he ate his lunch before he headed to the airport.  What a neat experience that would have been.

Parkerisms - netflix and conference

Yesterday at church, Parker was playing a game on my phone with his friend, Braydon.  After they had been playing a while I got a tap on my shoulder from Braydon's Mom saying they are trying to open a movie on your phone.  The conversation between Parker and me went a little like this...

Me: "What are you doing?"
Parker: "I want to watch Netflix.  I want to watch George"
Me: "You can't watch a movie during church"
Parker: "but I'll be really quiet!"

Happy Day --- Happy Birthday

Every morning I tell Parker to go get dressed for his happy day.
This morning it went a little like this...

Me: "Parker go get dressed for your happy day?"
Parker: "For my happy birthday?"
Me: "no, it's not your birthday."
Parker: "Oh for Claire and Lindon's Birthday?"
Me: "No we already went to their Party. But, it's Aunt Kia's birthday on Saturday."
Parker: "My best friend, Kia?  Her birthday?  My best friend Kia and Matt?"
Me: "haha, yes Parker Kia"
Parker: "Is she going to have a spiderman cake??"

I guess Uncle Matt will have to get Kia a spiderman cake for her birthday!

Parkerisms - bad back

Parker: "Mom I want to hold you."

Parker: "Here I'll rub it for you."

Me: "Thanks Parker that was soo sweet!"

Parker: "Now can I hold you?"

How could I not let him hold me after that?  The lil stinker!

Thank You Amazon Mom

These lovely things came in the mail yesterday thanks to Amazon Mom!!  Usually just one package of these at Wal-Mart, Target or Babies R Us is $6-$8  ---  But I scored all three (a total of 648 instead of the normal 216 because it was a pack of three) for only $14.83.

That's 2 cents a wipe and cheap if you ask me.  Here is the link if you want to try and score your own.

Huggies Natural Care Baby Wipes, Scented, Refill, 216-Count Pack (Pack of 3)
In order to get the cheap price you have to register for Amazon Mom and also click the subscribe and save (after you receive the package you can cancel your subscription).  I don't guarantee the price will stay this cheap because prices are always changing on Amazon.  So hurry!

I almost always buy Huggies wipes because they are usually thicker and smell better than the Pampers and some of the off brand.  So I was thrilled when they were shipped to my door for free.

I really love online shopping for stuff like this!  It makes life so much easier --- guess what will be shipped to my house today???

Are you a nice shopper like that?

Cookie Monster

Last night I started feeling terrible.  My eyes were bothering me, my nose was getting stuffy and I felt a sore throat coming on.  I took two benadryl and headed to bed.  Riglee and Parker both woke up with snotty crusty noses.  So I knew none of us were feeling well.  I spent most of my day today laying on the couch dozing in and out.  Luckily Rigs slept the day away and Parker laid on the other couch watching cartoons.

I got a text from my little sister today asking how I was feeling -she works with Adam and he told her I wasn't feeling the best.  I told her I was okay and she asked if I would make cookies for their co-worker for her birthday tomorrow.  I told her I would.  I made sugar cookie dough and spelled out "Happy Birthday Christy" and then made a few chocolate chip cookies (which I think turned out terrible).

I organized them nice and neat on the tray (see above picture) and then got busy cleaning up and starting a load of laundry etc.

The next thing I know is my sweet little two year old was about to take a bite out of a cookie.  I ran from the laundry room into the kitchen and took it from him and was sad to see tiny teeth marks in it.  I wouldn't have cared except it was one of the letters (I knew I should have made extras!!)!
I might have over-reacted a tad - and yelled and sent him to bed.  I told him he was never allowed to get food without asking and that he was in big trouble.  I went in a few minutes later to check on him and this is how I found him...
I feel terrible for yelling at him and over-reacting because when Kari and Adam explain tomorrow to her why the "I" is missing from her name she'll totally understand and not care.

Parker got his cup out of the fridge and brought Adam one of my slim fasts out of the fridge and said "Dad, I want this kind of chocolate milk".

Adam had to explain to him that it wasn't chocolate milk and that he couldn't have it.  I guess he thought it was a Yoo-Hoo (nasty if you ask me).

Master Haynes the Graduate

He did it!  Adam graduated with his Masters Degree!!  He walked at graduation - it only cost us $80 but hey - he's done and we are so proud of him!

My mom took these before we headed to Adam's Graduation

These are from the Pre-Party that his department put on...

Parker loved that "the bird" was there and let him take a picture with him

Do you see him?
He's in line to get his empty container haha!

He looks so excited haha

These were taken after graduation...

I am so proud of him

After Graduation we went to Fuddrucker's to eat!  Thanks to everyone for coming and celebrating this special time with us!

Awna D was a trooper and went out in the heat with the kids to let them play for a bit!
Thanks Maren for the amazing Cake!!  It was a big hit and everyone loved it!!
One Happy Camper finally done with school (until he goes for his doctorate!! haha)

Parker's New Shirt

Aunt Caryn found this shirt for Parker yesterday at the store...
It pretty much describes my kid - don't you think??

Thanks Aunt Caryn!

Parker: "mom can I have some chocolate milk?".
Me: "what do you say"
Parker: "please will you get me chocolate milk. I can't know how to get my own chocolate milk."

My nephew, Hunter, stayed with us starting day night and left last night.  We all really enjoyed his visit, but I think Parker enjoyed having him here more.  He had a friend to play with!

Last night at 4:40 am (well I guess this morning) Parker came in my room and said where is Hunter? he isn't in bed.

I said that's because he left earlier this evening remember?  And then he crawled in my bed and went to sleep - he had several dreams too.  He cried, laughed and talked...
