Dear Verizon and Blood Sugar

Dear Verizon,
Why do you have to make my life difficult?  I had to get a new phone in May because mine broke.  I had to get another in August because the replacement broke.  Then I had to get one a week ago because the replacement for the replacement broke.  (That's 4 so far)  Then that one broke the day I got it.  So you send me a totally different brand and model that is comprable to the one I had.  I got it in the mail and so far it's been great.

However, today I get an email from you telling me that you are charging me the $9.99 for the Data Plan.  When the guy told me he was sending me a totally different phone, I asked him if I would be charged and he assured me that I would be.  So I call you today right after receiving the letter and the lady tells me my phone won't work without me paying for the data plan.  Yeah the internet won't work (actually it will I will just have to pay per megabyte) but I will still be able to make calls, receive calls, send texts and receive texts.  That's all I need my phone to do.  When I asked to speak to the supervisor she told me that she would put one on the phone but never did.  She told me that she couldn't take that off my bill because it wouldn't allow her to do it.  Not 3 or 4 minutes later after being on hold she told me the reason I wasn't paying is being I was grandfathered.  You see - they started charging the $9.99 for the phone I had after I had gotten it, so I didn't have to pay for it.  She told me I wasn't grandfathered for this one.  It's not my fault my phone broke and you sent me a new one.  So she finally said - This is your replacement phone (which should be on my account in front of her right?? it should tell her that...) and then put me on hold again.

She came back and said I'm sorry.  I'll take that off your phone right away and if you get on the internet you will be charged per megabyte.

Read your notes Verizon before you tell the customer they are wrong and you can't do something.  At least she was very polite and nice the whole time... UGH

-Kimberly

Around noon toady - I realized I hadn't eaten anything and was getting pretty hungry so Parker and I shared two bowls of delicious Cinnamon Toast Crunch.  It was so dang good!!  Around 2 o'clock - just after all the Verizon crap I explained above I checked my sugar and it was 145 - HOLY COW!  They do say stress increases your sugar, but still.  I drank about 6 oz of Mountain Dew Throwback (great stuff!!) and got up to go sweep the kitchen floor and start cleaning the bathroom.  I scrubbed all the counters in the bathroom, the mirrors, the sink and the top of the tub (it's a garden tub you see so it has a huge lip around it).  I still need to do the inside of the tub, toilet, shower and floor - ugh I hate that part!!!  But I decided to go check my blood sugar again and it was down to 94!!!  So either the 145 was an error, or by cleaning a little, my stress level dropped (even after mountain dew - it should have gone up with that stuff!!).

I am super excited that so far with Baby #2 no gestational diabetes has shown up.  I continue to pray every day that I will remain healthy throughout this pregnancy and that gestational diabetes will stay away!  :)

I'm a Total Dork

Last night I washed a cookie sheet, pizza pan and cutting board by hand and put them in the oven to dry.  I know what you are going to say...Don't ever put something in the oven that can't go in there...

Well I knew that I would check the oven before I turned it on again...hahaha yeah right!!
I turned the oven on today to preheat it to make dinner and a little while later I started smelling something.  It finally clicked that I put that cutting board in there.  I opened the oven and got it out as fast as I could and took it out.  It was too late!  It had already melted some.  Luckily I had the cookie sheet underneath it so it wasn't that bad of a mess.  Adam came home just about then and cleaned everything up for me.  The house no longer smells like burnt plastic and the oven is totally cleaned out now.  I still cooked dinner at my grandma's tonight just it case though!

Check out the pictures of the burnt cutting board...

Two sides were hanging over the pan and that's where it was melting. This is the bottom side...

Naps

Monday through Friday, Parker is usually really good about taking naps.  He may cry for a few minutes but he stops quickly and goes right to sleep.  I am a huge fan of nap time for the little guy.  If he doesn't get a nap, he is very cranky.  However, on Saturday's and Sunday's it is almost impossible to get him to take a nap.  I blame it on Adam being at home.  You see Parker has Adam wrapped around his little finger.  Before bedtime each night, Parker gets to cuddle on the couch with his dad.  Adam won't just take him to bed because he wants Parker to sit with him.  I told Adam that it is fine that he wants Parker to cuddle with him, but it's not my fault when he doesn't go to bed...

Adam tried to get Parker to lay in his bed on Saturday and Sunday for a nap, but Parker wouldn't have it.  Saturday he napped with his dad on the couch and Sunday - he cried about 15 minutes in his bed before finally falling asleep.  Poor kid.  Adam usually gives in and either goes and lays in his bed with him or brings him back out and tells me that Parker isn't ready to go to sleep!  Today when it was nap time, I carried him to his bed, put him down, covered him up and walked out of the room.  Parker didn't make a peep and fell asleep.  That's the difference when Adam is home putting him down and when it's Me home putting him down!

What's it going to be like around here at Nap Time with 2 kids???  I don't think I'm quite ready for that and have about 19 weeks to prepare myself!  Adam will just have to get tougher!! haha

First Lamar Home Football Game

Adam got us tickets for the first Lamar Home Football Game! It was such a great game (the parts I saw anyways).  We were on the Away Side in the Student section on the second row right next to the band.  The band was a little loud and I didn't like being that close to them, but oh well!  We couldn't see the game unless we stood up because the people in front of us and to the left of us kept standing up blocking our view of the field and the huge screen!

Park kept wanting to sit with Uncle Matt, but it was sooo hot and Matt was the only one in a black shirt...I don't think he'll do that again!
Huge Jumbotron - Parker got to be on it thanks to Aunt Squirt and her connections.  I didn't get it on camera, but thanks to Adams connects, we have the disc that it is hopefully on!  I'll post the video as soon as I find him and crop it!

That's the back side of one of Adam's student workers.  She is on the Color Guard.
The band.
Parker wanting Uncle Matt - Do you love his Jersey???  We have good friends that love us enough to get this for Parker!!!  Thanks!!!
It was so hot!  Parker was so thirsty.  Adam went back in the 3rd Quarter to get us more water and they were totally out.  Adam told them they were going to kill someone!! haha

It was a great game and Lamar won!!!  It was so fun!!

Cutie

He's a stinker!

Parker likes when his dad cuddles with him in bed...Adam isn't always a fan because it isn't so comfy!

We got out the Wii Fit the other night to play and Parker insisted on playing too.  And the lack of pants means his dad was the last one to change his diaper!  Parker usually fights Adam when it comes time to get his diaper changed and so Adam gives up when it comes time to put his pants on!

I decided yesterday that I wanted to try and potty train today....when I brought the Target bags inside, Parker opened his undies and wanted to put them on...He loves his new batman water bottle!  It was expensive, but works so freaking good!  Put Ice in it in the am, it still has ice in the pm, even after being in the car!!!

Names, Names, Names

I made a list of all the boy and girl names we like...some are considered unisex names, others just boy or just girl...I took the poll down on the side because It gave us a great idea on names!  Thanks for everyone who voted.  This list will let you vote for each name and let us know if you like it or if you dont!  Feel free to vote on that list.  You can find it here.

Baby Names

We are having a hard time coming up with cute/clever baby names.  We find out if it's a girl or boy on October 6, but I want to have some names in mind.   Some names Adam loves and some names I love... we are having a hard time agreeing!  I'm not going to tell you who likes what!  Go vote for your favorite boy name and girl name on the right column (there are 2 different polls) so we can see what all of our friends think we should name Baby #2!

If you don't see a name on the list you like or think is unique and cute, click the I don't like any and then leave a comment on this post with a name you do like!!! :)

It's Time...

... to Potty Train.

Parker is such a great little boy.  Every morning when he wakes up, he stays in his bed until I go in and get him.  He will sometimes get out of bed to get a toy, but he gets right back in bed until we go in his room.

Today when I went in there i was greeted by a little boy without a diaper on and his shorts on upside down with both legs in one leg hole and out of the waist...

I'm not really looking forward to the battle of potty training, but I know it's time and we need to get it done before this baby arrives (which will be in about 20 weeks - doesn't sound like a long time does it??)

Hopefully we are very successful!

I also have tons of pictures on my camera that I need to upload to blog about including the First Lamar Football game that we went to!  Parker was on the jumbo-tron and I think I have the video of it!  I'll try to post that too!  Stay tuned!!

Never Say Never

So I don't think I will ever say never again...

On July 24th, Parker Pooped in the TUB!  Not fun!  But at least it was his dad bathing him and not me! :)

Tonight - He threw the dvd remote in the toilet - Luckily I was standing right there and could grab it out quick.  I hope it isn't ruined!  We took out the batteries and are letting it dry.

Not really looking forward to other firsts like these!

Cutting More Teeth

Parker is cutting two more teeth...that would make 8 total in his mouth...I'm not really sure the official numbers, but according to a picture I found he has teeth number 7, 8, 9, 10, 24, 25 and he's cutting his molars (I think anyways haha).  I'm not sure the exact numbers for those teeth, maybe one day I'll learn.  It's still a dream of mine to one day be a dental hygienist.
