Cause you had a bad day...

First let me start off by saying if you don't want to hear about my terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day then it is time to close our blog right now.

I started off this morning by not wanting to get out of bed. I had to be at work at 8 this morning and had to shower and all that. So I got out of bed at about 6:45 and didn't want to. Right at 8 o'clock, I got a phone call about a package. A customer was shipping something to someone and they had scammed her. I guess it was an ebay thing or something the buyers check bounced and I dunno so I had to call and stop the package in transit and have it returned to us. Then I got another call about a package that was supposed to be delivered on the 21 and it still hadn't been delivered so I had to hear about that and make phone calls etc. Then I had a phone call about a returned package. We have corporate accounts where they pay for the shipment and the guys numbers were pulling up in the computer for it to be one of those shipments, so I was on hold for over an hour. While on the phone, it was busy, Adam was trying to get money from me to go to the bank for the store and to buy toner for the fax machine, he was waiting on customers, I was waiting on customers. Then I had a particular customer come in.

Please note I was still on the phone. This customer wanted me to change the layout of a piece of paper she had. Also note it was not an original it was already a copy. It took me three or four times to get it switched and she was made because it wasn't very clear. I explain (while on hold still) that when making a copy of a copy it isn't going to be very clear. Then she wanted me to make a copy of two pieces of paper that had highlights on it. I asked if she wanted it in color. She said I don't know I want it to look just like this. So I made the copies so the highlights would be yellow just like she had it. I go to charge her and she got mad because she said I charged her too much. I charged her for two color copies and only one black and white. She said that she didn't get a color copy and I explained that when you copy anything that has any color besides black and white, it is considered a color copy. She said this isn't a color copy and I explained it again. I handed her the receipt and her change and told her to have a great day. I picked up a package and carried it to the back and she told Adam I needed an attitude adjustment. haha. Sure the customer is always right, but come on, she didn't know what a color copy was and wanted a picture vertical on the page not horizontal. What does it matter, she said she would cut it out anyways.

So still on hold I call the guy back about the corporate shipment, he told me to hang up and he would call a supervisor to get correct numbers. I hear Jenna was on hold for over an hour again today and so was Lindsay. We aren't supposed to do that. If the numbers don't work, they don't work.

As a wedding gift we had our dishes sent to them. I was so excited to have dishes, however when Janelle and I were putting them in the dishwasher at mom's to clean them, the very last bowl was broken. So we cleaned all that we had and I tried to return it today. She said without a receipt she couldn't do anything cause it was over $20.00. I said but we got it like this can't we just switch out the bowl. She assured me that they would not sell a broken item and we must have broken it. Do stores inspect everything they get in before it goes on the shelf and take everything out of the box to check it, no I think not. I was kinda ticked. I said okay well if I get a receipt can I just bring the bowl back and switch it out and she said yeah if we have it in stock. I said okay thanks for the info and have a great day.

Needless to say I came to mom's house to hang out with Janelle and Meredith because they always put me in a good mood. I took a little nap, woke up and played mario cart on the wii with Janelle and now we are watching American Idol. Well trying to. We were watching the recorded version cause we missed the first ten or so minutes and the recording is all messed up. So we missed half of it. UGH.

On a positive note, I am healthy, Adam is healthy. The semester is almost over. And now Hell's Kitchen is coming on. Court is on his way with food for Janelle and me and afterwards Court, Janelle, Adam and me are going to have a Mario Cart Comptetion cause Court went to get two more controllers. I stink at the game and fall off or end up in the grass. But it is fun hanging out with court and janelle we love it!

UGH!

So let me just tell all of you how I kinda want to take all my joy back from serving. That wouldn't be appropriate, I know. But I woke up this morning and had what look like bug bites all over my right arm starting on my palm just below my pointer finger all the way up to my shoulder on the front and back of my arm. Little red dots. I haven't seen them anywhere else and Adam doesn't have them so I am kinda bugged.

I guess I got them yesterday at the park and they are just now showing up but I am not sure. It is crazy. I just saw two more on my left arm. Why would a bug bite my palm and what kind of bug would do that? I am telling you it is really annoying. They are starting to itch again like crazy. I had chicken pox when I was little so I know it wasn't that. What are they? Dr. Mom isn't here to look at them she has been in Utah all weekend for Crick's graduation. UGH. That is all I have to say about this. UGH.

Joy

You now it feels so good to serve sometimes. Well all the time if your heart is in the right place. We went this morning and volunteered for two hours at the Rubber Ducky Derby and really didn't do too much, but it was fun to help and serve. Then we came to my parents house and I rocked Meredith to sleep and we took a nap in the love sac for two hours or so. It was so fun. I have gotten to take a nap with her the past three days and have enjoyed it. I am going to miss her when she goes to see her Aunts and Uncles on the Riley side (and the Utah Fruges). Things are going really well. I am over not getting my frosty last night. Adam's been hanging out all day while I have spent time with Meredith. It has been fun and eventful! I think Adam's little sister is coming to spend the night tonight but I'm not sure. It should be fun. It's always fun at our house (that's why I'm at mom's most of the time haha). Well I just wanted to post about the RDD (rubber ducky derby) and how fun it was.

Disappointment

I will start out with the good news first. We went to an Awards Ceremony for the Communication Department at Lamar for Adam. He was recognized for competing last week at a competition, got the outstanding Junior Award for Advertising, and was again inducted into the Communication Honor Society. I hope I got all that right. It all kinda went over my head. Before the awards we had a nice dinner. Haha Nice ended up being not so nice.

Our appetizer drink choices was water or orange juice. Orange Juice, weird at that kind of thing I think. So Adam went and got me water and he brought it back. It was about four sacrament cups is all the size was and mine had a floaty. I hate seeing things in my water. So then we get in line for our food. The salad looked edible, the dressing was okay, the mashed potatoes were not so mashed, the green beans were crunchy and not cooked well, the chicken fried steak was tough, the rolls were cold, and we could have water or tea for our drink. I picked water and had a floaty on the side of my glass again. AHHHH.

It started at 6:30 well was supposed to but didn't end up starting until 7 or 7:15 and was over at 10 finally. I was ready to go home but trying to be a supportive wife letting him tell his friends hello and goodbye. He won't see some of them ever again. On the way home I said that I wanted a frosty and french fries. I like dipping my fries in my frosty. (No I am not pregnant, I have liked it for a long time.) Adam orders a small frosty and small fries for me and gets up to the window and they tell him they are all out of frosties. How Can Wendy's Not have FROSTIES??? What is the deal with that. How could they. What were they thinking. UGH. Not appropriate behavior by any means. I didn't just want the fries either so Adam tells them nevermind and comes home. I ended up eating a bowl of fruity pebbles. Can You believe it. I am so disappointed. It makes me almost never want to go back. But whatever. I am through ranting and adam wants his computer to get some work done. So that is all for now. Goodnight and goodluck with whatever you have to do this weekend.

Greetings....

It has been a terrific day to say the least. We have been very busy. We woke up early and babysat Meredith for a few hours while Janelle went to the dentist. Luckily, she slept almost the whole time. We cuddled in the love sack and it was so peaceful and fun (and I got a nap too :)) . Then Adam headed to school to further his education and I was off to work to make the "big bucks". I am in the process of hiring someone so I did a few interviews, and the normal stuff. Then back off to Mom's house to see what was going on since Adam wasn't home yet. Nothing really as normal just chit chat.

Tomorrow we have some awards ceremony to go to for his communication classes. We have to pay 15 bucks a person to go. Even Adam had to pay. Isn't that dumb. They could have at least paid for him. UGH.

Saturday we are volunteering at a Rubber Ducky Derby. Not sure what we will be doing but I hope I can be useful some how. I feel bad because Lindsay has to attend a funeral, Jenna had plans, so John is working for the 5th or 6th Saturday in a row. I feel so bad, but I feel I need to go help serve. So off to serve we will go and even though I feel bad about John working.

One day I hope life will slow down and we will be able to settle down and start a family, but it's not looking like that will happen any time soon.

Adam got word from his advisor tonight that he should be able to graduate in December and they were going to work something out for the two classes in the Fall that were at the same time. I am excited because then he can work on getting a decent job in January or February and start making big big bucks. I hate that everything is so expensive and we have to depend on money for so many things.

Gas prices need to go back down. It is $3.40 here and that is way to expensive for me. Good thing work is only a mile up the road and mom's is about 2 :). I recon that is all I have for tonight.

Correction

I guess so people won't be asking me for the next few days how the steak fingers were, I will let you all know my loving husband didn't make them for me. His eye was bothering him so bad, he slept and then had to wake up to get homework done and work on a website for someone. So I ate a Lean Cuisine. It was pretty tasty. I made Adam one too. He was pretty satisfied for now. But I bet he will be hungry again in about 30 minutes. They never fill him up long enough. :)

Family Update

This is a pic of Adam at his competition.

I just wanted to pop on and update everyone on our lives. Adam's project is finally over! I have a husband back! He was at school all the time working and at times he wouldn't get home until 3 am sometimes later. They presented in Dallas this past week at the competition and got 8th. The whole team is very bummed about it. They worked so hard but I guess it wasn't exactly what the judges were looking for.

We kept Matt's younger brothers this weekend so their mom could go out of town. I guess they had fun. Adam played video games with them until wee hours of the morning. I think that is all they did the whole weekend. Their mom probably wouldn't approve because they did nothing productive all weekend but go to church (well one went to the temple). Oh well life goes on. Adam was the boss. :)

We are doing well as a whole. I still won't cook on the stove/oven because it's gas and all the alarms went off last time we tried. So we eat lots of meals at mom's house. :) I think I might get Adam to cook Steak Fingers tonight though. It sounds Delicious! Good thing we got lots of appliances when we got married. Like a crock pot, fryer, etc.

I think that is all the exciting news I have today. I'll try to post closer to the end of the week.

It has been a crazy week with working, delivering tax papers for dad, and with Adam at school all the time, I feel like I haven't had time to do anything. Adam has a presentation in Dallas for school next week so he has been so busy getting things ready. I decided I hated my hair being long so I went and got my hair cut and Adam said he wanted red in it. So some of these pictures are of my new hair cut so everyone can see it.
Meredith wasn't so happy to take a picture

The back. It is so short and I need my lil sister here to straighten it for me. It is so hard to do the back. Adam tried this morning for church and we were not so successful.

The colors are so pretty I love them
I get tired of my picture getting taken so I have to make it interesting. :)

This is my new sister in law Andrea. (I still don't know how to rotate pictures. ugh)

We had a birthday party to go to yesterday, Adam had to work on his project, we took Andrea's senior pictures (well Adam and my Sister-in-law Janelle) took the pictures. I just walked around and enjoyed the beautiful weather and a Saturday off with my husband in between working at school.

I also felt bad this weekend, because I picked Meredith up out of her crib and brought her to Janelle and when I sat on the couch she started crying and reaching for me. I felt so bad. Janelle started calling me her mom and said she was now Aunt Janelle. Haha. When Meredith started crying, I said Janelle here you go she is crying and she told me I was the mom to take care of it. Oh goodness. I don't like that. It makes me not really ready for my own kids (when we get one) because when they cry, then I can't pass them off. I'm the fun aunt. We play and get food and shop and I buy them whatever they want (well before I was married and had tons of bills and responsibility). I will try to keep everyone posted on here, but it's not so easy with our busy lives.

For now this is all the news I have to share.

UGH Life is no Good Sometimes

I don't have any fun pictures to share but I wanted to comment on the blog. I know life gets busy and we have a hard time updating sometimes, but please, come on people. I checked some friends blogs and they haven't updated in months. What's up with that? I want to know whats going on in your lives silly. Okay enough of me complaining about that.

For those of you that don't know, I had my gallbladder taken out in December. I was having major problems with my side and the Doctor said I had the beginnings of gallbladder disease. I was going to have to have surgery. Are you kidding me? Anyone that knows me well, knows I don't do doctors and I don't do needles. They were going to have to chop me open. I didn't like the sounds of that. Luckily mom knew the anesthesiologist and my nurse was a family friend. That made me feel a little better. Last thing I remember was the nurse telling me her daughter my age had a baby and I was out like a light. I remember waking up in recovery complaining about how it hurt and she told me that as soon as they got me back up to my room they would give me meds to make the pain go away.

My fiance (at the time anyways) and a good family Friend, Shawna, Mom and Dad where there in my room while I was in and out. I couldn't be released until I went to the restroom. I couldn't have anything to eat or drink after midnight and my room nurse turned off my iv. how the heck am I supposed to go to the restroom? Dad apparently told me he would pay me money if I would get up and go to the restroom so we could go home. That was around 8 pm or so. I finally arrived home at about 11 pm that night. Shawna and Adam tell me how rude I was to the nurse because she kept telling me to get out of bed. I just had surgery I didn't want out of my bed. UGH.

So now I have this problem. You see your gallbladder helps with digestion and making the process go not so fast or something. With out the gallbladder, it hits and you better find a restroom right then and there. Cause you don't have much time. It really isn't fun and my side still hurts at times. So what was the point of going through the surgery and paying the doctor tons and tons of money? Not fun I tell you. Not fun.

On a happier note, Adam is spending tons of time at school studying and working on things so he can graduate in December and I am trying to do the same. Well I won't graduate until May so I am hoping we wont have to move too far away so I can graduate. I dont want to be one semester short of graduating. That would not be fun. Needless to say I spend a lot of time at my parents house because I don't like to be home alone while he's gone. It's just something about the place I dunno. Not creepy, just weird feelings. So anyways. I suppose this will be the end of my saga for the day. Sorry to have bored or grossed people out but hey its a fact of life sometimes to be bored or grossed out. :)

What's a girl to do?

So here is the story. I got a text last Saturday from a co-worked explaining she would not make it to work all week because her mom had to go to the hospital for a brain anyurism (sp). She texted me aging on sunday letting me know that her mom was being pulled off life support and wasn't going to make it.

My heart just sank. I thought what if that was me? Is she okay? Is she crying her eyes out like I would be? All the rest of us from work went to the viewing last night. She looked perfect. Still had her smile on her face and was very sweet and polite with everyone. I would definately not be like that if I had just lost my mom. she is the world to me.

So this week's schedule has been a little tough without her because she works a lot of hours that we are all trying to makeup. John can't work on Tuesdays and Thursdays so that meant that me and the other girl had to split them and work alone the whole time. So I get out of bed this morning not wanting to go to work I mean I had to be here at 8. That's pretty early. :)

So I get to work and at about 8:30 I got a phone call from the girl that was supposed to work from 2-7 telling me that her grandpa has passed away this morning and she was on her way to the hospital to be with the fam and then to head to her grandmothers.

I am feeling really bad and then started thinking again what if I was in her shoes I would be going balistic and wouldn't want to be at work so I told her I was sorry and that I would work on getting her shift covered for her. With one girl already out due to a death and now the other, that leaves me and John (who has school all day today).

So what do I do, call my sister-in-law Sarah that has worked her and asked if she could work a little while today so I could go home. She agreed but had an appointment so she could only work one hour. So here I am sitting at work all alone bored to death (at least its not crazy busy) and its only 12:40 in the afternoon and I have to be here until seven and my husband is at school today until 8:30 or 9. AHHHH.

Can we say slowly going crazy and also feeling so sorry for my co-workers in their loses.

Our First Easter

We decided we wanted to spend our first easter married with my sister and brother in law and their three kids. We had a lot of fun dyeing eggs, going on egg hunts, playing, and just chatting and catching up with them. So here are a few pictures from the weekend. Sorry there aren't many of me and adam, but we weren't the cute ones this weekend the kids were. This is Me not wanting Adam to take a picture of me looking like a hideous beast.
Adam doing his fake smile in the car. I hate that I don't know how to turn the picture.
Me cheezin it in the car waiting for Caryn and Justin to hurry and pick a movie.
Taylor smiling big for Uncle Adam
Hunter was ready to dig into that candy.
Hunter was checking to see what the easter bunny put in the eggs he found.
Tucker had my shoes on his feet, then he decided that they were so big, he was going to wear them on his hands. He is so silly and cute.
Tucker and Aunt Kim after the big easter egg hunt in the back yard. The kids had a lot of fun looking for eggs. The easter bunny hid some easy ones but some hard ones too that Hunter found.
Hunter checking out what he got from the easter bunny.
Taylor and Tucker putting stickers on their eggs that they colored.
This was a funny story. Tucker held up his chocolate bunny and said what is this and I said its candy. He shook the candy in his right hand and said yeah candy what is this. I said that's candy too and he said "OHHHH" haha. I love his face in this picture.
Hunter patiently awaiting his egg to finish in the dye.
Aunt Kim about to hand one of them another color to dye another egg.
Taylor was not happy to have her picture taken. Caryn and Justin ran into the movie place and we stayed in the car with the kids
The eggs they dyed. They were so pretty.
Hunter proud of his green egg.
Hunter trying not to look happy in the picture we took while they were in the movie store.
Tucker smiling for me kinda. He likes his picture taken.
