Houston Zoo

Tuesday Adam randomly took off work for a personal day to spend time with us! haha - I think he really wanted to rest, but instead we headed to Houston to the Zoo with Janelle and Meredith. Awna D let us borrow her car so we could fit two car seats and 3 adults comfortably. P.S. The Houston Zoo is quite expensive. $11 for adults and $8 for like 2-12 or something like that. Luckily Parker was free, but still! Somebody loves us enough to have given us money for the tickets-Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! (Tip for $2 off each ticket stop at a Fiesta Grocery Store and buy them there...)

Welcome to the zoo!!
Parker was excited for his first trip to the zoo!
Our tickets!
The map, Janelle, and Meredith's tickets!
Look at all the animals dad...
Sea Lion

Zeebra

Janelle and Meredith
They had a playground and slide for the kids! They loved it.
These are for Hunter!

Racoon - playing dead maybe? :)
Bald Eagle
Parker did not want anything to do with the eagles nest until...
he spotted the eggs!
Meredith's Turn
Do you see the turtle?
Weird looking bird
Parker liked the sea otters

You could go through the meerkat tunnels and pop your head up in these dome things. Parker wouldn't go up, but Meredith did as long as Janelle was with her.

Do you see the bat on the right side of the fruit?
Meredith got to brush a goat.
Parker got to pet a goat
Aunt Squirt is envious of his long eyelashes.
Meredith was ready for a nap...
The carousel fixed her right up though.

The bear looked mad!
Check out how big their horns are!
Okapi - half zeebra, half girafee - not really but google it...you'll see
Look Dad...Look at that one...
Elephants!
Can you tell it was past naptime? :)
Giraffe
Giraffes
Leopards

We had a lot of fun!

Oh My Gosh, you covered it all! And took really great pictures too. I'm glad you discovered the Fiesta discount. Looks like a really wonderful day after all, and what a great post!

I love the zoo too, so much so that I volunteer there. I blog for the Houston Zoo website and found yours, so I just wanted to stop by and say how glad they are that you had a day like this. That's what makes it all worth it for us! Hope you'll come back with Meredith and Parker again soon! Maybe to the new dinosaurs park that'll be up for the whole summer.

PS: My sister's name is Janelle... I so rarely see that pretty name :-)
