Mom, Dad, Court, Janelle, Meredith, Justin, Caryn, Hunter, Taylor, Tucker, Adam, Parker and I all went out to dinner together tonight. Kari and Matt couldn't come because they were both working. Crick obviously couldn't make it because he is in Utah. Kevin, Sarah and Claire couldn't come either because Sarah can't stand the smell of seafood and with her being pregnant, that makes it 10 times worse. They were all missed, but we have fun together socializing and enjoying each others company. Here are a few pictures from dinner.
Parker slept pretty much the whole time. It was pretty noisy in there so he stirred a little bit, but he was a perfect angel so mom and dad could enjoy dinner!
I didn't tell anyone I was taking pictures but the kids. So no one is looking at the camera. This is Janelle, Dad and Mom.
This is Meredith enjoying her shrimp. Yum Yum! (She shared a few pieces with me. It was delicious!)
Hunter was also enjoying his shrimp and Taylor was enjoying her chicken. Hunter shared some of his shrimp with me too. We also ate fried alligator that Hunter loved and fried pickles that are amazing! If you notice Hunter is missing a few teeth. The bottom two are coming in but the top two are still missing.
Tucker didn't want his picture taken. The background is Caryn, Justin and Court.
I finally got a picture of Tucker. You can see Adam's beard that he has still yet to shave off. Oh well life goes on. After dinner we all headed home and the kids played the wii (well Justin and Adam played a little too) and the adults sat around and chatted. Janelle and I sat at our laptops reading the new twilight book. Well it isn't out yet, but she has a little bit of the first book in Edward's perspective on her website. We were so excited. I am heading off of here to go read some more.
Parker is getting blessed tomorrow. I'll try to post pictures tomorrow evening of him and perhaps a family picture or two!

Oh Happy Day!
I feel like I am boring everyone by posting every single day, but I am just so excited to have Parker here and that he slept through the night for me a few times. Last night he fell asleep at 8:00 right before Hell's Kitchen started. He didn't wake up until 4:00 this morning!!! Yeah!!! It would have been better if Mom had gone to sleep right after Hell's Kitchen at 9:00 or 9:30 like Dad, but Mom didn't fall asleep until 1:30. I just couldn't sleep for some reason. So at 4 I was exhausted. I changed his diaper and laid him next to Adam and made him a bottle quick. He was crying because he was so hungry and Adam slept through it. Can you believe it?!? Dad must have been exhausted. Good thing it's Friday. Well I got him back to sleep around 4:45 or so and he didn't wake up until 8:30. Yippee for Mom!!!

Another Great Night...
Parker slept through the night for the most part. He feel asleep around 12 and got a little fussy at 1:30, so we put him in our bed (I know not a good thing to get started, but whatev). We have a pillow in between me and Adam that we put him on. We don't want him flat on our bed to keep us from rolling over. The pillow works perfectly. Adam stays on his side of the bed, I stay on mine. Well he technically slept from 12 until 9:30. Hooray! At 9:30, I changed his diaper, got him dressed for his day, and fed him. He is now back asleep and its not even 10:30. What a sweet baby we have. He smiles a lot in his sleep and I'm not too sure why, I guess he is having great dreams. Every time I get the camera out to capture it, the smile is gone. Sorry folks. Such is Life!

Two Week Check Up
Parker went to the doctor today for his two week check up. He did great for the most part. He has grown 1 1/4 inches which makes him 21 3/4 (21.75) inches long. He came home from the hospital weighing 8 lbs 2 oz and today he weighed in at 9 lbs 10 oz. He is a growing boy. He was fine until we had to lay him down on the bed without clothes on for the doctor to check everything out. He doesn't like being cold and not bundled up. Other than that, he was terrific. The doctor said he is a healthy little boy.
He is doing great and sleeping well for us. He is wide awake right now though. Hopefully he will drift off into dream land soon so I can drift off into dream land myself!

Exciting News
I fit in two of my pre-pregnancy jeans, one pair of my capris, and one pair of dress pants. I am so excited. I tried a pair of jeans on last week and they didn't fit, but I found four pair of pants that I wore before I got pregnant and they fit!!! I am so excited!!!

Pictures!
I know you have all been waiting for me to post more pictures...well here you go...Sadly enough, this is our first family photo. We never took one at the hospital. It's okay. We'll try to remember next time.
Mom was holding Parker last night and this is how he was sleeping. Sucking his thumb and poking his eye. He is soo cute.
Like father like son. This was Sunday morning. Parker likes our bed better than his.
I finally found my baby picture to post so everyone can tell us who they think he looks like.
Parker - 8 lbs 9 ozParker - 8 lbs 9 ozMom (Kimberly) - 12 lbs 7 oz (I was a big ol' baby)Dad (Adam) 8 lbs 11 oz - (I think he weighed that much...Im not sure)

Baby Shower 2
I haven't posted pictures from our Mid-County/Twin City Shower yet...So here are some pictures...
Caryn made the cute diaper cake and the Wooden Letters. They are now stapled to a ribbon hanging in Parkers room Vertically. It is soo cute.
This is the crib that Mom has had since Christopher was a baby. It really doesn't have a spot at her house right now, but when Parker goes over there, that's what he takes a nap in. It served as the "gift table" at the shower and the blanket is from Mom and Dad. Mom had Caryn pick it up on her way in to town and Taylor wouldn't let the lady at Target put it in a bag because it was so soft and she wanted to carry it. She held it the whole way to Moms and didn't want to give it up. Adam wants a blanket like it that is just as soft.
Sarah got the cake for us. I cheated on my gestational diabetes and ate a tiny piece at the shower. That is all I had the whole time. It was so good. Yellow Cake with Chocolate frosting. Patty is Amazing!!! I love the cake.
I was privileged enough to have Shawna drive all the way from Houston to come to the shower. I haven't seen her in ages and miss her dearly. Thanks Shawna for coming and then leaving and driving all the way back home so late at night! We were all chitchatting waiting for the guests to arrive in this picture.
Here is a picture of some of the guests. It was so good to see everyone and we appreciate everyone coming and for all the gifts we got. We love everything.
Claire and Taylor were helping me with my gifts. Claire kept emptying this bag before I could see what anything was and Taylor kept bringing me more gifts. The little girl in the white shirt is Holly's little girl.
My aunt is making this blanket for Parker. It is so cute. All kinds of animals (the monkeys are precious on it). She didn't get it finished before the shower so she took it home with her to finish. I can't wait to see the finished product!
Everyone knows that Adam loves argyle for some odd reason. I'm not quite sure why but he does. This is from Court and Janelle and Meredith. We love it. It is a 3-6 months so he hasn't worn it yet, but don't worry. He will!
My face is hideous in this one. I was getting tired of being the center of attention and started making weird faces for the camera. Parker loves this towel because right now it is big enough to wrap around him a few times to keep him warm after we give him his baths!

More Pictures
Here are more pictures from this week. I am sorry that I haven't really posted many, but I haven't taken many pictures. I just want to hold our sweet little boy all the time. So I hope you enjoy and I will try to take more and post more often. This is Parker sleeping today. He is so peaceful. He sometimes squeaks when he sleeps and it's soo cute.He is trying to smile in his sleep. He does this often. I couldn't get a picture of a good smile so this will have to do. He can hold his head up for short periods of time and I am always amazed at what he can already do.
Don't you love what my family does when they get together? Caryn and the kids came down Sunday for a visit to see Parker. We all sit around watching tv and goofing off on our laptops.
Caryn's Kids all fought over who got to hold him next. It was so cute. They love their lil cousin. You can't see Parker's face in many of these because he likes to stay very warm and wrapped up very tight.
It's Tay-Tay's turn.
Hunter's Next.
Aunt Caryn finally gets a turn!
Proud Mommy and Daddy. Check out how hideous I look. Look how tired Adam is. Poor guy is so good to me.
Even Uncle Matt likes holding Baby Parker. I have yet to get a picture of Aunt Squirt holding him. I always forget to get out the camera until it is too late.
More pictures soon to come.

Already Awake
It is 7 am and I am wide awake. Little Parker and daddy lay asleep in their beds snoozing and dreaming of who knows what. I can't believe that I'm already awake. It is so hard to get around with a huge cut in my gut, but I am getting around great for having surgery on Tuesday. C-sections are considered surgery right. They cut you open and sew you up right?!?
I remember after having my gallbladder surgery December 2007 and I couldn't move for 2-3 days. Court lived with us at the time and with mom having had a recent surgery, she couldn't help me out of bed hardly at all. Luckily when I would wake up and was ready to head to the living room to sit for the day, Court would come in and help lift me out of bed. It is so hard going from laying flat to standing up. I would walk around a little bit, but I think I am getting around better this time around. Thanks Court for all your help with that one.
Adam has to give me a hand sometimes for me to get up to go to the bathroom out of bed. Sometimes it hurts so much that I just use him for support. He has been a great dad to Parker. He stayed with me as much as he could at the hospital. The last night we were there, he was hurting so bad from sleeping on the "couch bed" that I told him he could go home and sleep in our bed and I would see if mom would come visit. He declined and said that he couldn't leave me there and him be home comfortable. He is such a sound sleeper, but when Parker whimpers in the night, he wakes up to check on him. Adam changes him every time for me. I still can't bend over to pick him up out of bed or anything. So Adam changes him, I feed him/burp him, and try to get him back to sleep. Adam takes him from me and puts him back in bed. I am so grateful to have them both in my life. Thanks sweetheart for all you have done for me and little Parker this week! You have made healing so much easier!

First Night Home
Well we came home from the hospital and Adam had me go straight to the couch. He got Parker situated, and brought in all the bags. He was nice enough to let me steal his computer for a while to post all the pictures and update and check all my email. I had 37 new messages from Monday. I was pretty excited. I loved reading everyone's comments and encouraging messages. Mom and Dad came by for a quick visit bringing us back Adam's car that they had been borrowing and all the bags from their house. Dad hadn't seen Parker yet because he got the flu last week and he wanted to make sure he was doing well before he came to see him. He didn't hold him though because he still has a little cough and wanted to make sure he didn't share it.
John and Marie then came and Adam left to go get Carmela's for us to eat. It was delicious. Kari and Matt showed up and Matt actually held him. It was fun to visit with everyone. After everyone left, Adam helped me to bed, changed Parker's diaper and handed him to me to feed him. He did so good through the night. He usually eats every 2 1/2 - 3 hours and with us sending him to the nursery every I was worried about it being our first night. He ate last at 11:30 last night and Adam woke up at 3 and checked on him to make sure he was still breathing. He was and so Adam knew that Parker would want food soon, so he went ahead and changed his diaper and handed him to me to feed him. He drank the whole bottle and went right back to sleep. He slept the rest of the morning until 8:00 or so.
Needless to say, night number one went well and I hope that each night continues like this! I am still in pain and moving around slow, but I am not taking pain killers every 6 hours. Usually just once or twice a day. I am surviving and I am hoping to be back to my usual self soon!

Baby Parker is Here
Baby Parker Alexander Haynes is home and doing well. I am home and doing good as well. I know you all missed me. I missed checking my email, blogs, facebook, etc. We had internet at the hospital the first day and a half, but after that, it was down. Adam was a bit depressed because he had nothing to do for a few days. He did leave on Tuesday and Wednesday to come home and shower and he went to class yesterday and today, so he wasn't stuck there forever.
I was admitted to the hospital Monday morning at 6:30 for an induction. I finally started feeling contractions around 4 or so and they were torturing me. I was in pain and tears were streaming down my face, but I got over it. My doctor came in and I was thinned out and his head was low, but I wasn't dilating, so they turned off the Pit. and said they would try again in the morning. He came and checked me again in the morning and then again and lunch and said that I still wasn't dilating and that he would have to do a c-section. He said I can do it now or you can wait until I finish up at the office tonight. I decided that it would be better to just go then and not have to wait any longer. So they prepped me and we headed to the operating room. The spinal was horrible and I was in tears. It was hard to sit still. Adam heard the nurse walk out saying that she was helping with a c-section but it was taking a while because the patient was a "tiddy-baby". Not sure if she was talking about me or not, but it made me sad. I did well during the procedure. I didn't really feel anything. Just pressure and tugging here and there. It was not bad. I saw him for two seconds and they took him to the nursery. New babies stay in the nursery for the first 3-4 hours so it took a while to hold him.
Here are several pictures...They aren't really in any particular order, but we wanted to share with everyone.
This is him in the car seat after the ride home.
Him in his going home outfit before we left our room.
The clothes fit him pretty well, but the hat was a little big. He is so cute.
Adam got to go in the Nursery with him while I was being "stitched" up. This is when they were cleaning and checking him.
Marie, Kari and Mom were outside watching them clean him up.
Adam said John's grandpa name is going to be Old Man Haynes. We'll see if that sticks or not.
This is the first Grandchild of John and Marie. We're not sure what her grandma name is going to be yet.
Baby Claire that isn't a baby anymore got to hold him. She was pretty excited about it I think.
Grammer and Grumps came by for a visit.
Andrea is pretty stoked about being an aunt.
This is me holding him. I look pretty hideous.
Proud Daddy holding him. Adam is very excited about having Parker.
This is the first time that I got to hold him. I was so excited to see him.

Anxiety
I don't really know if anxious is the right word for how I am feeling about now. I am so nervous and scared. I keep asking myself the same questions over and over in my head...
- Am I going to be a good mom?
- It is going to be a quick induction/labor?
- Is he going to be healthy?
- How am I going to do?
I am just so nervous and don't know what to say or do. Adam gave me a blessing tonight and I am so grateful that he is able to do that. I would be lost without him. He is an amazing husband and I'm happy to have him by my side.
Check out the link to his blog on the side...he added a rule or two of his own...

A rule is a rule
So with the good chance that Parker will be here on Monday, I decided to re-address my rules, edit a few, perhaps delete a few, add a few, etc.
1) Everyone MUST was their hands before holding him. Our hands get so many germs on them, the first few weeks he's here I don't want him getting sick. So this is a must.
2) He is not the social event of the hour. He will not be passed around at church or anywhere else for that matter. With it being flu season and with colds going around, I don't know who is sick and who isn't so it's important to me that I try to "protect" him from these ailments.
3) If I want you to hold him, I'll offer it to you...so don't ask. :) this one can be taken kinda rude, but it has gotten old hearing people say when are you due, what are you having, etc. and it will get old hearing can I hold him. I'm not planning on bringing the car seat in to church because it will just get in the way and with Mom, Dad, Kari, Matt, Adam and Me all going to the same ward, it will be easy to take care of him during church.
4) If you smell like smoke, you will not be able to hold him. Smoking makes me gag. I hate when people stand right outside Walmart or somewhere and smoke. Move further away. Your cig is not that important.
5) If you finally get to hold him and you get animal hair on him, you might have just lost your privileges. When I worked at the dry cleaners and had to get all the hair off the clothes before they went in the machine it grossed me out. I'm not going to pick animal hair off of him.
6) No you aren't taking him anywhere, so don't ask.
7) If you want to stop by for a visit, make sure you have a phone with you, because I am not a fan of people just popping by. I like a little warning. Please call ahead to make sure we are home and that it's okay.
8) When he sleeps, I'm going to sleep. I don't care who is over, Adam will have to be the entertainment, because as of right now, Parker sleeps all day and goes wild and crazy at night. If he is like that when he gets here, it won't be too fun. So don't be offended.
9) Just because you see him with Adam and not me, the rules still stand. Adam and I have talked about it and he knows and respects how I feel.
10) I'm not going to wake him up to eat. They say babies should eat every four hours. However, they know when they are hungry and he will let me know. If he is hungry, he'll eat. If he is sleeping, he'll sleep. That's that.
11) Don't kiss him and get lipstick or makeup or anything else for that matter all over him. I hated that when I was a kid and I don't want to have to clean it off of him.
When he is actually here, I might change my mind on a few of these, but I'm not sure. You never can be too careful when it comes to someone else's health, etc.

Crazy Dreams
I decided that since I have become pregnant, crazy dreams happen. Let me tell you about this...
I think it all started when I found out I was pregnant and started taking the pre-natal vitamins. I am not sure why but that's when the first dream came. So here goes
1) I was part of Ocean's Eleven (you know the movie). It was a shortened version of the movie, but in the end I was caught and arrested. I am not sure why. They don't get caught in the movie at all. It was really crazy and kinda freaked me out because it was so real.2) One of my all time favorite tv shows is CSI. It is so amazing. So dream number two I was a member of the CSI crew (the show CSI Las Vegas not Miami or New York) and I was shot. Are you kidding me. First arrested then shot. It is so crazy.
3) I took a nap one Sunday afternoon and Court and Janelle were on their way here from Lufkin. I had a dream they got in a crazy wreck on the way here that a tire from a huge truck fell out of the back and ruined his truck. I don't know why, it just happened. (no it really didn't happen, but we did call court to let him know to watch out for tire trucks!)
4) I don't know why this one happened but it was today. Three of my friends and Me were in some hotel room. I won't name names because all of us are married to different people and two of the friends were female and the other was male. The people involved might think this as weird/funny and the spouses might too, but I am not sure they might think I'm totally crazy so anyways. We hung out and went to a carnival and then all stayed in a hotel together and had a blast. The next day my parents called concerned for not calling them to update them on where we were and what we were doing. The male in the group commented that I was 24 years old and I shouldn't have to report in, but you know. I then woke up to my mom calling me... Crazy
I don't remember any more specifics...but tell me how weird all this is....I can't believe it sometimes...

The Verdict is In...
I went to the doctor today and had an ultrasound. They say he is a good 8 lbs. He wouldn't move at all for the ultrasound tech. She was beating on my stomach again and he wouldn't budge. I think he just gets camera shy because he was moving a little bit before that. I then got to see my doctor and he told me that he wants to induce me on Monday. Yep that's right this Monday the 12th. It is so crazy. I'm nervous and scared and excited all at the same time. I realize that if he isn't ready to come yet...he won't, but I'm excited.
We have so much to do. I had my Buna shower and my shower down here is Saturday. I suppose it's just in time and I'll spend all day Sunday washing clothes, towels, sheets, etc. Adam and I are going to have to venture to Beaumont one day this week to get our car seat because we haven't gotten it yet, but really need it now and we can't just wait til after the shower to see if we get it because we won't be able to just run to Beaumont Monday. We are excited and Adam will have his laptop with him I'm sure and I'll have my new camera...so we'll post pictures of our little one as soon as we can!

Exciting
So today at lunch and tonight for my snack I didn't have to take a shot. My glucose numbers were low enough both times that I got to pass the shot and just eat my lunch/snack. I'm pretty excited about it. I can't wait until Parker comes and they test me to make sure it really was just gestational diabetes and that I don't have it for reals. I can't handle it anymore. I don't know how people do it. I get so tired of having to worry about my sugars and if I have my insulin with me to eat etc. So many times Adam and I used to just eat spur of the moment because we were both hungry and we haven't really been able to do that and it kinda bites. So hopefully it's just gestational and that's all. Well I just wanted to post about not having to give myself 2 of 4 shots today!!! Good Night!

Update on Life
I went to the endocrinologist yesterday for a little check up on my gestational diabetes. My appointment was at 9:40 am. I was the first one in the waiting room and the first person to sign in. Mom and I waited and waited and waited and waited. Finally at like 10:10 or so they took us back and got my weight, checked my sugar, heart rate, pulse, etc and told us the doctor would be in in a few minutes. Mom said "is the doctor here" and the nurse replied that he was. So he finally came in about 10:20 or 10:25 or so. All he did was listen to me breathe with his stethoscope and told me that I need to up my breakfast and dinner insulin 5 more units. He said he would check on me in the hospital when I have the baby and that he would see me in his office again at the end of February. He was in there for about 5 minutes tops. Why do you have to wait so long for freaking doctors? I have been blessed thus far with my OB/GYN because the longest I have had to wait for him was about 10-15 tops and I never have to really wait for our GP. I love it.
I also have a sweet husband. He treats me like a queen and he is so sweet. I have done nothing all day long. Literally. I got up and ate breakfast and took my morning shot at 8 when he left, but then I went back to bed and stayed in bed until 11:20 or so. I then got up and have been on my computer all day and slugging on the couch. I texted him and told him that I had been lazy and I needed to get up to do something, and he responded, that "a queen can do whatever she wants". So he really does think I'm his queen. Tomorrow I'll do a lot better and get up and do something productive. I just haven't felt like it today.
We found out today that Adam was going to have to go in to work a half hour early this semester and leave a half hour late because he is taking two classes on campus and they will allow him to only take one. Even though one is during his lunch break, they told him that lunch was a privilege and if he wasn't going to go to lunch, he needed to be working. Are you kidding me? Typical Lamar is all I was thinking. He called me back a few hours later and told me that his Boss called HR to see if there was a way for him to get around going in early and staying late. Since Lamar will allow all employees to take one class, he was good for one and that since the other was during his lunch break, he could do it. HR said it doesn't matter what he does during his lunch break it's none of their business!!! YAY!!! So he is still going to be one class short from graduating in May, but the class he needs is offered in a May Mini, so he is going to do that and will graduate in August or whatever. I am so excited that he will finally graduate!

Tired all the Time
So I have decided that this huge stomach of mine needs to go soon. It is so hard to get comfortable at night. I can lay in one position maybe two hours tops and then I have to adjust and twist and turn. It is a lot of effort sometimes. I wake up every morning having slept, but not rested. It is so crazy to think that I am almost 38 weeks along and that he could really come at any time. It's also kind of scary.
What am I going to be like as a mom?
Am I going to be patient and loving when I have to get up every few hours to feed him?
Am I going to be one of those parents that lets their kids run wild?
Am I going to be so strict that he will still have a bed time at 17 (saw that one on Wife Swap)?
Am I going to be just as good as Caryn or better?
I watch her with her children and can't wait for Parker to get here so that I have my chance with my lil guy, but it's just kinda scary. How did mom raise 6 kids? How did mom go through 6 pregnancies, labors and deliveries with no complications with all of them being over 10 lbs? This is my first and Adam jokes that Parker might be an only child because he doesn't like it when I'm pregnant. It's hard to believe that at 5 weeks we found out I was pregnant and kept our mouths shut a few weeks. It's an exciting thing, but the fear of losing the baby and having to tell everyone was just not something we wanted to have to go through. Luckily, he is doing well and getting big and we have an ultrasound on Wednesday to see how big he is and maybe my doc will discuss an induction date with me. That would be nice.
